A year ago, Széchenyi István University launched a Hungarian Film Club for its international students, which has been a great success with them. The 5G Coalition was founded five years ago and currently has 89 member organisations. The aim is to help Hungary become a world leader in the deployment, take-up and practical use of 5G. Within the Digital Development Centre, priority is given to developments in transport, agriculture and healthcare. Two teams of computer science students have been recruited to start their work and studies in the Digital Development Centre at Széchenyi István University. The second-year students are working in virtual and augmented reality environments using existing smart glasses. One of the main goals is visualization of medical imaging solutions with smartglasses, with 2D and 3D visualizations of MRI, CT and RTG images. In another development, in collaboration with the hospital in Győr, telerehabilitation applications will be tested in virtual reality.
Széchenyi István University organized a tournament with teams of the European University Hockey League (EUHL) at the Nemak Ice Hall in Győr. The UNI Győr Hockey Cup featured the home team Uni Győr ETO HC, HC Uniza (Zsolna), Sapientia U23 (Karcfalva), Gladiators Trenčín and UMB Hockey Team (Banská Bystrica). The University's goal is to get the team into the international university hockey circuit, the first stage of which was successfully completed by the team from Győr.
