Two students of international studies at Széchenyi István University and Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship holders, Laura Khajmukhan from Mongolia and Azhar Aitnazarova from Kyrgyzstan, came to know about the Christmas season at the Győr campus on their arrival in Hungary. They told us about their Advent preparations.
The value of the degree of students graduating from Széchenyi István University's English-taught Business and Management programme will be raised to a new, even higher level by the fact that the programme has been awarded accreditation by the prestigious London-based ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) until 2026.

Széchenyi István University is not just a workplace, but a community in which the family has a special place. That is why once again this year the institution’s trade union organised a Santa Claus party for the children and grandchildren of the staff.

The presence part of the programme, organised jointly with Portuguese, Irish, Austrian and Finnish partners, was held at the University of Leiria in Portugal, and next year the University of Győr will host the event.
Along with engineers currently or formerly working in Formula 1 and many other speakers, around 200 students from all over the world attended the Formula Student Symposium held at Széchenyi István University over the weekend. Over the three days, teams were inspired to design and build their new single-seater racing car.

Caroline Charette, Canada's Ambassador to Budapest, visited the Győr campus of Széchenyi István University to learn about the educational, research and third mission activities of the university. During her program, the diplomat gave a lecture on Canada to the students of the Deák Ferenc Faculty of Law and Political Sciences.

Széchenyi István University and Express Innovation Agency Zrt. have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at the establishment and development of R&D projects as well as education and training partnerships in a university-business cooperation. Established by the Hungarian Government in 2013, the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme aims to promote the internationalisation of Hungarian higher education. The programme is managed by the Tempus Public Foundation and supervised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
One principal objective of the SH programme is to attract first-rate international students who are seeking a study destination with a guarantee of high quality education and who are willing to establish long-term attachments to Hungary and its people. Alumni returning to their home countries freshly equipped with marketable skills and knowledge can build economic, political and civil relationships and are in a position to enhance Hungary’s international visibility.
In the event of a successful EU application, the Regional University Network – European University (RUN-EU), of which Széchenyi István University is a member, may be expanded to include a Belgian and a Spanish university, it was decided at the organisation's event in Finland. The Győr-based institution, which has been steadily strengthening its international relations, has undertaken to contribute to the research and third mission pillar of the consortium's application.

An innovation day presenting the results of the latest research was held for the fourth time at the ZalaZONE automotive test track in Zalaegerszeg. At the programme, the Automotive Research Centre of Széchenyi István University also demonstrated its innovations in the field of autonomous transport. Visitors were able to see, among other things, the self-developed test track marking robot, the sensory detection and avoidance of obstacles, and a demonstration by SZEnergy, the world record-breaking student team of the Shell Eco-marathon. The university's Centre for Digital Development and Talaris Interface Ltd. presented a joint development project to fully control a drone wirelessly using sensors integrated into shoes.
Eszter Orsolya Szabó, a fifth-year student of the Deák Ferenc Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of Széchenyi István University, won the first place in the XII National Case Study Competition for International Law. Tamás Stipkovits, a PhD student at the Doctoral School of Law and Political Sciences of Széchenyi István University, was looking for answers to these questions in his thesis written for the competition of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
To great interest, The Regional University Network - European University (RUN-EU) consortium's founding workshops on open science, research strategy and topic leadership and mentoring were held with the participation of Széchenyi István University. The programme also offers a wide range of opportunities for joint international publications and the creation of international research teams.
